Question 1 of 4

What do you need painted?

Cabinet paint curing: the timeline

Hours: dry to touch. The paint feels dry. It is not strong yet. Do not test it.

Days: gentle use. Doors can go back on. Light use is fine. No slamming, no scrubbing, no heavy shelf loads.

Weeks: full cure. The film reaches full hardness. Normal kitchen life resumes. This takes up to 30 days for most enamels.

How to treat fresh paint

Close doors gently the first week. Wait on shelf liner — it can imprint soft paint. Wipe spills, do not scrub them. Be patient. The paint is doing chemistry.

We leave you a care sheet at the walkthrough. See keeping cabinets clean.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does cabinet paint take to cure?

Dry to touch in hours. Hard enough for gentle use in days. Fully cured in up to 30 days, depending on the paint.

When can I put dishes back?

After the gentle-use window we give you — usually several days. Line shelves if you are cautious. Heavy items wait longest.

Can I speed up curing?

Good airflow and moderate temperature help. Heat guns and impatience do not. Time does the work.

What happens if I use them too soon?

Dents, sticking, and impressions in the soft film. The paint recovers as it cures, but deep marks stay.
